How the money raised helps those with JIA

Thank you for your interest in #WearPurpleforJIA 2019 and for helping to raise funds and awareness of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)!  All funds raised as part of the #WearPurpleforJIA 2019 campaign will be used to benefit all young people living with JIA and their families, across the UK, who need the support of JIA-at-NRAS services. These services include:

  • Family Fun & Information Days held across the UK, with activities for young people living with JIA and their siblings and information sessions for parents led by healthcare professionals

  • Family Residential Weekends held across the UK, with confidence building activities for young people living with JIA and their siblings and information sessions for parents led by healthcare professionals

  • Adolescent Activity Days where teenagers living with JIA can have fun and share their experiences with like-minded peers who understand what they are going through

  • Development of free educational materials which explain about medications, transition from children’s services to adult healthcare and mental well-being

  • Development of free information resources for schools and healthcare professionals

  • Campaigning to improve services in Paediatric Rheumatology in parts of the country where there is a need to improve services
